Who we are

Constellation Dog Academy was formed in 2020 when three experienced certified trainers combined efforts to provide the highest quality behavioral care for dogs and their caregivers.  Like the different stars that form a constellation, we are working together to build something greater. Constellation Dog Academy aims to shine a brighter light, provide a stronger guide, and deliver a wider world of knowledge for you and your dog on your journey together.  We have decades of combined experience informing our work and are committed to staying up-to-date on the latest science and training methods.

What we stand for

We pride ourselves on fair and mutually respectful training.  We advocate for our learners both human and canine. Our team of certified trainers works closely with you to determine a training plan for your individual needs. We are fear and force free and we know that trust and choice are instrumental in creating and maintaining the bond you and your dog share.

Constellation Dog Academy is here to help you and your dog thrive together- whether it's hiking through the woods, navigating the city or sitting on the couch. We use positive and motivational based training methods that are solution oriented. We train with the same values we apply to the rest of our lives emphasizing compassion, kindness and communication.

Your dog is already amazing- let's work together to bring out their best.

“Some people talk to animals. Not many listen though. That's the problem.”

― A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh

We are listening. We hear you. We hear your dog. We are Constellation Dog Academy.

Why certification matters

Dog training is an unregulated field. This means any person can claim to be a professional without formal education, experience or license. While certification is not required in our industry, we at Constellation Dog Academy believe we have a responsibility to ourselves, our clients and the industry to stay up to date on, and hold ourselves accountable to the latest science and methods in the field. We seek certification with independent groups within our industry that require trainers to have a certain number of hours worked in the field, and pass a rigorous exam to be certified. Certification requires a number of continuing education credits to ensure our trainers stay up to date on the latest findings.

Certifications held by Constellation Dog Academy:

The CCPDT is the leader in the development of rigorous exams to demonstrate mastery of humane, science-based dog training practices.
